Calophysus macropterus (vulture catfish) — short care summary

• Size/lifespan: 25–40 cm (10–16 in); ~8–12 years.
• Temperament: Semi-aggressive, opportunistic scavenger; may nip fins or eat small/delicate fish. Better with similarly sized, robust tankmates or kept in groups (needs larger tank). Mostly crepuscular/nocturnal.
• Diet: Omnivore—prefers meaty foods (pellets, frozen fish, shrimp, worms); accepts scavenged flakes; add occasional veg.
